This past week I've been getting in touch with other au pairs going to the same preparation-training-course as I am. Both au pairs from Sweden + Norway and au pairs who will be living in the same area as me. It's been really fun getting excited together and talk about all the pre departure tasks such as packing clothes (which is a huge task to tackle!) and what courses at the colleges we're gonna take (I've not decided yet, of course).
It's always fun meeting new people, and to see a group of people getting together for the first time, and no one knowing anyone, is interesting. Everyone always take on different "roles", not necessarily because that's who they usually are but because that's who they feel they need to be in that situation. I am either the one to take charge and get things going or, if someone else takes on that role, the one taking a step back to stand in the background. Depends on how much I know about the situation as well.
